Home Alone – For The First Time In A Decade

Not even kidding, for the past 24 hours not one person has asked something of me.

Well that’s not quite accurate, yesterday afternoon my masseuse asked if the pressure was okay. Not even kidding about the masseuse either! #treatedmyself

Do you feel as though you’ve reached the twilight zone? What planet am I on?

It’s rather simple, my beloved husband has taken our children away to see their grandies WITHOUT ME.

I’m happy to report that it wasn’t really my idea, he offered to give me some home alone time to get work done and have the house to myself.

Let’s just let that sink in…

I have my house to myself.

An actual photo of me in 2008 before wrinkles and three kids. And just months after the last day I was HOME ALONE! How cute was my baby girl?

Sure I’ve been away without my family, like my amazing trip to Las Vegas last year.

But I’ve never had more than 24 hours in my own home all by myself. And it’s complete bliss. A little odd but incredible.

Last night before I went to bed I almost went down the hall to do my nightly fan adjust/temperature check. You know I have an obsession with temperature right?

It was eerie, just the cat and I and a quiet house. And I didn’t have to sleep with my deaf ear up because there was no one beside me snoring.

This morning I didn’t to cut apples, make porridge, cook toast perfectly and in different ways for three kids. And NO DISHES or washing.

Sure I still have hitloads of work to do, but that’s all I’m doing, oh and playing WORDS like a maniac.

Anyway, that’s my little ‘skite’ for the day, just thought I’d put it out there and suggest you do this too.

It’s quite liberating being home alone, I can see why Macaulay Culkin loved it so much.

P.S if you haven’t got your kids watching this movie you should, they’ll laugh their heads off!

When was the last time you were home alone?

How long was it for?

Maybe you’d prefer to go away and be alone? Well so would I but there’s a little thing called work, boo

  1. I looooove being home along. I’d rather that then be somewhere else alone. All the home comforts…it is the best!!

  2. I get some time alone every couple of months or so. I go hard when they leave, nice hot bath, catching up on some reading and tv shows and then…….boredom hits ha! I hate to admit it but the first few hours and bliss and after that I don’t know what to do with myself (under no circumstances will I resort to housework though!)

  3. Oh my god I love alone time at home, and very soon I don’t think I’m going to be getting any for a looooooooong time anymore! I’m 3 weeks off giving birth to my first child. I’ve got 2 weeks of leave before his due date and hubby is still working, so I’ll have to try and appreciate it as much as I can!

  4. I dont get to be home alone very often but I don’t have kids at home anymore either. Sometimes I miss the shenanigans… then I slap myself hard! ????
